Final Recruitment Complete at the Sogakope Site, Ghana
This week, the TraPCAf team reached an important milestone at the Sogakope site in Ghana: the final control recruitment exercise is now complete, meaning all planned controls and cases are successfully enrolled.
We would like to take this opportunity to extend a huge thank you to the site teams and researchers for their commitment — and an even bigger thank you to the participants whose time, trust and generosity make this work possible.
With full recruitment now complete, the Sogakope dataset will play a crucial role in helping us deepen our understanding of Parkinson’s across Africa. These insights will contribute to the wider TraPCAf project, which is working to improve diagnosis, care pathways, and research capacity across the continent.
This work is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and led by Newcastle University, in partnership with collaborators across seven African countries.
We look forward to sharing further updates as analysis begins and findings emerge.
