Before Shakespeare: The Beginnings of the London Commercial Theatre
An AHRC funded project, led by Dr Andy Kesson (Roehampton) & Dr Lucy Munro (King's College London) which takes seriously the mid-century beginnings of the London playhouses, by exploring archival and archaeological resources, and conducting performance workshops. The website has a timeline of the first playhouses, a regular blog updated by Andy Kesson, and will be adding content from their performance workshops with Shakespeare's Globe and The Dolphin's Back in 2017.
