The SynFabFun project was one of 14 exhibits at the EPSRC's Showcase event, "Science for a Succesful Nation", held at the Royal Society 21 February 2018.

The exhibit demonstrates how membrane technology uses significantly less energy than typical distillation separation processes.

Two bicycles power a membrane and a distillation process for water purification. Dr Richard Court (Newcastle) and Dr Tianyin Liu (Imperial College) demonstrate the exhibit, whilst SynFabFun Deputy Director, Prof Andrew Livingston discusses the research with an attendee.
