Summer Sharing Challenge

Welcome to the Summer Sharing Challenge 2026! We want to help parents and children aged 5-11 build sustainable book sharing habits. Sharing books with school-aged children can be a really important way to support reading enjoyment while also creating moments for parent-child connection that support wellbeing. However, lives are busy and it can be very hard to find the time as children get older! We hope that this challenge, over the summer holidays, is a fun way to move towards building an enjoyable and sustainable habit.
What does the challenge involve?
See how many days in the summer holidays you and your child can read together for at least 15 minutes. If you sign up to the challenge, we will send you a printable reading tracker to tick off the days that you achieve this. You can read anything you like - books, graphic novels, encyclopaedias, comics or magazines - follow your child's interests and enjoyment. They can read to you, or you can read to them, or you can take turns. Whatever works for you.
At the end of the summer holidays, if you fill in our 'finishers' form to let us know how many days you managed and how you found the challenge, you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 shopping voucher.
What do I do if I want to take part?
Fill in the online form below, which will share your e-mail address with us. We will then send you information about the challenge, some helpful tips for getting started, and a printable reading tracker to keep a record of the days that you read together.
We will send you an e-mail towards the end of the challenge asking you to complete our 'finisher' form at the end of the summer holiday. It is up to you whether you complete this. If you do, you will be sent a printable certificate and be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 shopping voucher, to be drawn at the end of September 2026. It does not matter how many days you have completed, you can still complete the finisher form and we still want to hear from you!
