International Itinerant Paleographic School in Rome and Naples
During 20–25 May 2018, I took part in the second edition of the International Itinerant Paleographic School held in Rome and Naples. The program focused on ancient and medieval books, inscriptions and documents, and consisted of seminars, conferences and guided visits of libraries.
The first four days spent in Rome included seminars at the Angelica Library, the Corsiniana Library of the Accademia dei Lincei and the Istituto Centrale per il Restauro e la Conservazione del patrimonio Archivistico e Librario, as well as a visit of Byzantine Rome. The final two days of the program were spent in Naples and included seminars at the Centro Internazionale per lo Studio dei Papiri Ercolanesi «Marcello Gigante» and the Vittorio Emanuele III Library, as well as a visit to the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
