Newcastle academic shines a spotlight on rural economy for policymakers

Professor Jeremy Phillipson from Rural Enterprise UK shared insights on these and related topics from research carried out at Newcastle’s Centre for Rural Economy when he gave evidence at the Parliamentary Rural Economy Committee this week.

He spoke about the important contribution rural businesses can make to the Government’s Industrial Strategy, but also warned of the need to consider specific challenges rurally based enterprises face.
