About

My research interests are focused on the molecular mechanisms that govern signal-dependent changes in gene expression and how these contribute to human disease. I am also interested in identifying key components of signaling pathways and transcriptional machinery that might be targeted to modify disease status. My previous work has identified and characterised several such targets in solid tumours (see publications).

I currently work in the Institute for Cellular Medicine, towards an understanding of tubulointerstitial renal fibrosis, the universal end point of numerous chronic renal diseases. Specifically, I am interested in the role of epigenetics and the behaviour of chromatin modifying enzymes in response to fibrogenic signals. I collaborate with other researchers across the university, and outwith, who have shared interests.

I am interested in hearing from other researchers with similar interests or those who want to initiate industrial or academic collaborations.
