Nayara Albrecht

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Newcastle University, dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive research culture. As the lead for data at Insights North East, I bridge academic research and policymaking by delivering impactful data visualisations and statistical analyses. I am actively engaged with multiple research clusters, including Governance and Political Organisations, Quantitative Politics, and the Centre for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
With over a decade of experience spanning academia, public administration, and consultancy, I combine innovative methodologies with collaborative engagement to tackle complex issues in political science and public policy. I am deeply committed to advancing open research and transparency. As a member of Newcastle University’s Open Research project and the UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN), I actively promote practices that enhance the accessibility and reliability of academic work.
I serve on Newcastle University’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee and Chair the Researcher Network, representing postdocs in the Wellcome-funded Reimagining Leadership project. My involvement in this initiative reflects my dedication to fostering inclusive leadership and driving positive change within academia.
Beyond work, I channel my energy into kickboxing, aerial acrobatics, travelling, and cooking. While I’m a non-talented but enthusiastic dancer, I’m a dedicated fan of Star Wars and always ready for the next adventure.
