Our Research

How will we deliver the project?

The project has a series of five work packages, each with a lead, focusing on a specific area of research.

We will welcome leaders in research from across our community to join us as ‘co-researchers’ in the project’s journey.

  1. Adopt a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to ensure that our work is coproduced with our research community and responsive to the complex needs of our own context.
  2. Develop and pilot a contextualised, sustainable and scalable six-month Leadership Development intervention based around reflexive practices that builds leadership practices and behaviours promoting psychological safety.
  3. Align existing reward and recognition practices and explore and propose the implementation of a ‘values-led’ recognition system to facilitate changes in leadership practices, providing and incentivising a positive environment for change.
  4. Advocate for change inside and outside the university to help address factors affecting psychological safety that sit outside of our own institutional context.
  5. Evaluate our approach and interventions to understand what works and what doesn’t, so that we can share with other institutions looking to build their own leadership capacity and practice.
