The Department for Agricultural Engineering and Agricultural Engineering in the Tropics and Subtropics belongs to the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences at the University of Kassel located on the campus in Witzenhausen, where research and education in agriculture and tropical agriculture have been performed for 100 years. The department currently has more than 30 PhDcandidates from 13 nations, where experience in international cooperation, even on a large scale projects, is based on several major grants obtained within the last five years. Most of these projects are related to post harvest technologies, loss reduction, food preservation and agro-based small scale industry.
