Our research forms part of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Radiation and Chemical Threats and Hazards, in collaboration with Public Health England (PHE). This work has focussed on:

  • The impact of iodinated contrast media (x-ray ‘dye’) on radiation doses 
  • The potential cataract risks from CT scans
  • The radiation doses from x-ray guided endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR)
