About the Trial
The objective of the PREMISE Trial is to compare the clinical effectiveness of 3 minimally invasive treatments (MITS) to transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) for treatment of bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) due to enlarged prostate over 12 months.
The trial is sponsored by Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals Foundation Trust and funded by the NIHR Health Technology Assessment programme. The HTA programme funds research about the clinical and cost effectiveness and the broader impact of healthcare treatments for those who plan, provide amd receive care from the NHS and social care services.
The trial is managed by the Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit, a fully registered UK Clinical Research Collective UKCRC Clinical Trials Unit.
