Italy and the Postcolonial

  • Venue: Room G.05, Percy Building
  • Start: Mon, 10 Jun 2013 10:30:00 BST
  • End: Mon, 10 Jun 2013 17:00:00 BST

This study day seeks to assess the impact of Italy as an important, if under-recognized presence in postcolonial studies, and to re-think the ways the field has developed mainly around British and French imperial spaces. In this seminar, we hope to initiate a conversation around Italy’s intellectual contribution to postcolonial thought.

Invited speakers: Derek Duncan (University of St Andrews), Sandro Mezzadra (University of Bologna), Sandra Ponzanesi (University of Utrecht), and Robert Young (New York University).
