ONEPlanet Conference 2024
One Tuesday 4th June we held the 2024 One Planet Student Conference in the Brinkburn St Brewery's quirky and characterful event space. It was a one-day event organised and run by our PhD Researchers, with the aim of sharing knowledge and building long-lasting connections.

Throughout the day short and long talks were presented under three broad themes of anthropogenic hazards & mitigation, palaeontology, ecology & conservation, and cryosphere. There was also a poster session covering subjects as diverse as a mathematical approach to resilient treescapes, global water risk modelling, seagrass restoration & recovery, and environmental changes in the permafrost of Mongolia.
At the end of the day attendees voted for the best talks and posters, and well-earned prizes were awarded.
The conference was a resounding success, giving everyone a great opportunity to hear about each other’s work and forge transdisciplinary links, while fostering the cohort experience that is an integral part of One Planet.
Many thanks to the organisers, Harley McCourt, J. Bela McCoy and Holly Bartlett!
