Our two digital-first commissions - with Hanna Tuulikii and Ruth Ewan - both respond to a brief which challenged artists to consider the contemporary relevance of Thomas Bewick.

The works themselves promise to engage with the legacy of Thomas Bewick in innovative and engaging ways. For the purposes of this project, we are interested in how different types of work might help to develop different audiences, and the opportunities they might offer particularly small or seasonal heritage sites to broaden their activity and enhance their visibility.
