Starting with the industrial revolution, you will discover some of the great figures in Newcastle’s history. Learn about Joseph Swan’s invention of the lightbulb and Gertrude Bell’s work in the Middle East. Listen to poetry written by people with dementia and learn about the University’s work in community outreach.
The exhibit also explores modern day projects the University is undertaking to resolve some of the world’s greatest challenges. Enjoy your journey as you learn about this beautiful city through the ages!
