What do you think books meant to you as a child?

I think it was a sort of taking you into another world, sort of thing, isn’t it? And the adventure of the imagination of another world, really. That’s what I think is probably the attraction of reading, initially. And I suppose, even as you go on … Because that’s what happens; you’ve been taken into other people’s lives and other people’s worlds, and imagining what their lives are.
