Dr Tom Charlton

Dr Charlton is a Research Associate with a background and industrial experience in civil engineering. His research is focused on advanced computational and experimental approaches in energy geomechanics, aiming to help the transition towards a net-zero future. His PhD research was on the development of probabilistic methods for analysis and design in offshore geotechnical engineering and he has published widely on the performance of foundations in renewable energy applications, such as monopiles for offshore wind turbines. He is currently working on uncertainty quantification of geothermal energy systems, as part of the NetZero GeoRDIE project.
