Shared anchors for floating offshore wind turbines

Shared anchors will reduce the levelized cost of energy for floating offshore wind (FOW) arrays, many of which are under active development in seismically active regions around the world.

We have recently published an open access paper in Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering investigating the seismic performance of a shared suction caisson anchor installed in liquefiable sand for a FOW array using dynamic 3D finite element analysis.

This work is part of James Barron's PhD project, which is a collaboration with Ryder Geotechnical.
