World Alzheimer's day.
On September 21st, to highlight important research into Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases that cause dementia, members of the NDPRG in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Society arranged for the Gateshead Millennium to be lit up in blue.
The iconic bridge was lit up in the colours of the Alzheimer's Society to raise awareness of the important research they support to improve the care, diagnostics, and treatment for people affected by dementia.
