Dan discusses current dementia research for local charity
Local dementia support charity, Action on Dementia Sunderland, recently hosted NDPRG lab member Daniel Erskine and Myrto Stylianou, a DTC-funded PhD student working with Dr Fiona LeBeau, as guest speakers at their AGM. Dan and Myrto discussed their different research approaches, and how multi-disciplinary research at Newcastle is leading to the identification of common disease mechanisms across the spectrum of dementia disorders.
The members and service-users of AOD Sunderland were particularly interested to hear about the rich history of dementia research in the North East of England, and how current work in the NDPRG and across the Institute of Neuroscience is continuing the tradition of world-leading dementia research.
