Registration

Registration has now closed and the conference is full

We are aiming to live stream the plenary sessions across the two days.  Think link for the live stream will be posted here on the webpage in advance of the conference

Fees are to attend the entire 1.5 day conference, and will be as follows:

£140 Professionals (e.g. salaried Academics, Researchers, Clinicians, Policy makers, Organisational PPI-leads)

£25 PhD students

£10 PPI Contributors/Partners (e.g. members of the public and patients involved in research)

Help with costs for PPI contributors/partners

As part of supporting patient and public involvement at the conference, we have limited funds to help those wishing to attend the conference but who need support with the cost of all or some of the following:

registration fees

travel

accommodation

This fund is available to PPI who are:

members of the public and patients who are involved in research

members of local voluntary or community organisations

members of self-help groups

Help with costs (bursaries) are for PPI contributors/partners who do not have access to funding from other sources, such as user support groups or a voluntary organisation.

Where possible, applicants should seek support for costs to attend the conference from the projects or organisations with which they have been/are working.

Bursary awards will be prioritised for applicants to the fund who have an accepted abstract to present at the conference.

Awards will be limited to a maximum of two people from each project.

Bursaries will be awarded at the discretion of the conference organising committee.

Application process

To be considered for one of the above bursaries please apply by email to evalppi.conf@ncl.ac.uk  stating your name; your host organisation, research or PPI group; whether or not you are submitting an abstract to the conference (either as a lead author or as a co-author); and, where appropriate, your estimated travel and accommodation costs.

Deadline for bursary applications is 5pm Friday 31th August 2018

Help with costs for PhD students

Thanks to the generous support from the NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) and the Institute of Health & Society, we are delighted to be able to offer the following bursaries to PhD students:

We have 9 bursaries available to cover the cost of the conference registration fee (£25) & travel expenses (standard class, within UK).  Priority for these awards will be given to SPCR trainees with an accepted abstract, but non-SPCR students may still apply.  Awards to SPCR trainees will be limited to one trainee from each SPCR department.

We have 12 bursaries available to cover the cost of the conference registration fee (£25).  Priority for these awards will be given to IHS and Newcastle University (NU) PhD students with an accepted abstract, but non-NU students may still apply.

Help with costs are for PhD students who do not have access to other sources of funding.

Applicants should explore all other possible funding routes to support their attendance at the conference.

Awards do not include support to cover accommodation costs.

All awards will be at the discretion of the conference organising committee.
