Project Summary: My PhD project integrates time-resolved cryo-electron microscopy with biochemical and biophysical approaches to capture the structural transitions of MTHFR at different time points following SAM binding. Through this work, I aim to uncover the molecular mechanism underlying SAM-mediated inhibition of MTHFR. Ultimately, this research will lay the groundwork for the rational design of therapeutic compounds to treat a wide spectrum of diseases associated with MTHFR dysfunction.
