Project Summary: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the leading cause of chronic liver disease and has a 25% prevalence worldwide; yet the overall understanding of the disease remains very limited and no therapeutics are currently available for treatment or prevention. The purpose of my PhD is to design and synthesise novel chemical biology tool molecules to study and modulate glucokinase activity and establish GK inhibition as a therapeutic target in NAFLD.

Interesting Fact: I once served Nicole Kidman when I used to work at an ice cream shop– she is really nice!
