Project Summary: The aim of the project is to prepare a library of Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras (PROTACs) that target and degrade the EBNA1 protein. The EBNA1 is essential for survival of the Epstein-Barr (EBV) virus, which drives nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Treatment for NPC is limited, hence the EBNA1 protein is an important target. The project will use peptide ligands already identified by the Cobb group to target EBNA1 as well as developing new peptide-based ligands, to join to E3 ligase ligands via linkers. The immunotherapeutic potential of targeting this protein will also be explored.

Interesting Fact: I used to train and compete in the discus event at athletics.
