EC criticised for slow response to hip problems
The European Commission was criticised by the Science and Technology Committee for its slow response in the wake of medical device scandals of the PIP breast implants and metal-on-metal hip replacements. Current revisions to the regulations are unlikely to take effect for several years, potentially placing further patients at risk according to the Committee. Article available from here.
