"A mile in my shoes"

This workshop is presented by the 'When Technology Fails Patients' project and Altogether Hip, for people who have had metal-on-metal hip replacements and their families.

It has three purposes:

  • to pass on the latest information about those metal-on-metal hip replacements which have higher failure rates than expected
  • to allow patients and their families to take part in a focus group about their personal experiences with their metal-on-metal hip joint replacement, as part of a research project
  • to allow patients and their families to connect with each other and talk about their experiences
