The First European Daggers: Function, Technology, and Social Significance
Congratulations to Dr Andrea Dolfini, who has been awarded a grant as PI for a Marie Sklodowska-Curie International Fellowship.
The Fellow will be Dr Isabella Caricola, who completed her PhD in prehistoric archaeology last year at La Sapienza, University of Rome.
The project is titled ‘The first European daggers: function, technology, and social significance’ (EuroDag).
The research aims to understand how early daggers were used, for what purposes, and in which social contexts, while also exploring whether meaningful functional differences can be discerned amongst this broad class of objects based on manufacturing technology, chronology, typology, or regional distribution.
