Sword Fighting Demo

Come along and see a Bronze Age sword fighting demo at the Great North Museum: Hancock.
As part of his research into Bronze Age weaponry, Dr Andrea Dolfini (Lecturer in Later Prehistory at Newcastle University) and the Hotspur School of Defence will be testing out some replica Bronze Age weapons.
Dr Dolfini wants to find out what happened to swords during real fights thousands of years ago. How did the materials react in battle? Were they damaged or worn down?
He will also be on hand to answer any questions that you might have about swords and other ancient weaponry.
Demonstrations will be at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm.
