A twin chamber seawater flume to analyse the hydrodynamic boundary layer formed over a surface under different flow conditions. The MPF has an ageing section to simulate in-service performance of biofouled surfaces and a measuring section where the hydrodynamic boundary layer developed over a surface can be measured using pressure transducers or laser doppler anemometry. This facility is run in collaboration with Akzo-Nobel / International Paint.
