Our students here in Newcastle Sociology go on to a wide range of successful and rewarding careers. But while studying, what these careers are, and the way to reach them often feels unclear. The question of what to do after graduation is a source of worry for many current undergraduate students.

We carried out a research project to speak with our current students and our recent alumni to learn more about various steps into the world of work with a degree in Sociology or in Politics & Sociology. We have used these interviews to create this website; our aim is to provide current students with guidance about life after their studies that will reassure and inspire them.

There is no ‘one-size fits all’ pathway into the world of work after a degree in Sociology or Politics & Sociology, but we hope that you will find a lot of useful ideas and advice here.
