The August issue of Open Access Government includes an article by Prof. Hayley Fowler 'Understanding changes to extreme rainfall' (p260).  This provides a timely update on how INTENSE is improving our understanding of the nature and drivers of climate change.

A new study by the INTENSE team compares trends in hourly and daily precipitation extremes using a network of stations across the US.  Our results show that the mean % change in annual maximum daily precipitation  per global warming degree is ~6.9% °C−1 while lower sensitivities are observed for hourly extremes.
