Probing the Causal Link between Conscious Perception and Neural Activity in Thalamocortical Circuits

Event: Lab retreat presentation of Cognitive Neuroscience Lab (Uslar, Germany)

Author: Ryo Segawa

Summary:  This presentation was done in Uslar, Germany, where the lab retreat of Cognitive Neuroscience Lab of DPZ was held on the 24th of October 2022. The presentation was to report on the progress of the project to the organisation's internal audience. I first explained the motivation behind the project's aim to investigate the causal links between the neural activity of visual consciousness. Next, I reported on the status of training on the fixation task in the monkey. I then reported on the progress in producing a binocular rivalry task in human subjects based on the results of previous preliminary experiments, and finally, I dictated the short-term goals for applying the task to monkeys.
