Title of the presentation (tentative): "How did I get here today? Puzzle your brain solves for you everyday"
Summary of the event:
Soapbox Science is a public outreach platform that promotes women working in science and the research that they do. The events turns public spaces into an area for learning and debate, in the spirit of Hyde Park's Speakers' Corner. Soapbox Science encourages scientists to explain their research to members of the public using non-traditional methods (for example, there is no use of a projector or slides). Speakers typically make props at home to explain the processes behind their research.
Summary of my future talk:
I hope to cover the following points in my talk (tentatively):
1. Simple actions we do every day and the complex neural activity behind it.
2. Different levels at which the brain can be studied.
3. Huge and heterogeneous datasets that is needed to comprehensively to understand even a small brain function.
4. Communicate to prospective neuroscientists in public audience, the collaborative nature of neuroscience research and how it can be benefited by contributions of neurobiologists, mathematicians, and physicists alike.
