About

The Accelerator Award enables team science across Europe. Funded through a partnership between Cancer Research UK, AIRC and FC AECC, it supports the creation of high quality tools and resources that will unlock new research into unanswered questions about cancer.

The project, led by Professor Helen Reeves at Newcastle University, aims to to develop tools to enable the research community to answer specific questions centred on stratication, monitoring and improvement of immunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We will collect tissue and data; characterise the immunogenomic HCC microenvironment; develop preclinical animal and human models; and deliver a PhD training programme to empower the researchers of tomorrow.

We have broken our 5-year study down into Work Packages. To read more about each of the four work packages and how the teams will work together, please navigate to the Work Packages section of our website.
