LISA LE FEUVRE is a curator, writer, editor and public speaker. She is the inaugural Executive Director of Holt/Smithson Foundation, an artist-endowed foundation that continues the creative and investigative spirit of the artists Nancy Holt (1938-2014) and Robert Smithson (1938-73). Between 2010 and 2017 Le Feuvre led the Henry Moore Institute, a centre for the study of sculpture, realising a programme of exhibitions, publications and public programmes, as well as running a library, sculpture collection and archive. She co-curated the quinquennial exhibition British Art Show 7 taught on the post-graduate Curatorial Programme at Goldsmiths College and led the contemporary art programme at the National Maritime Museum. Recently she has written on artists including Katrina Palmer, Gunter Förg, Fred Sandback, Jiro Takamatsu and Mario Merz, and on her two long-term research projects - the topics of failure and relationships between art and prosthetics. She is on the 2018 Turner Prize Selection Committee.
JAMES LINGWOOD has been Co-Director of Artangel since 1991. Amongst some 125 Artangel projects produced over the past 25 years are Rachel Whiteread’s House(1993-94), Matthew Barney’sCremaster 4 (1994), Roger Hiorns’ Seizure (2008-9) and Taryn Simon’s An Occupation of Loss (2018). Long-term Artangel projects outside the UK include Roni Horn’s Vatnasafn/Library of Waterin Iceland and Mike Kelley’s Mobile Homestead in Detroit. In 2011, The Artangel Collection of Moving Image works was launched. The collection includes works by Clio Barnard, Yael Bartana, Douglas Gordon, Mike Kelley amongst others.Prior to his role at Artangel, Lingwood was Curator of Exhibitions at London’s ICA. He has curated exhibitions for museums including surveys of the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher, Vija Celmins, Susan Hiller, Robert Smithson and Thomas Struth. He recently curated Richard Hamilton - Serial Obsessions for the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul and Luigi Ghirri - The Map and the Territory, Photographs from the 1970s for the Folkwang Museum Essen, Museo Nacional Reina Sofia, Madrid and the Jeu de Paume, Paris.
Chair: CHRIS McCORMACK is a writer and associate editor of Art Monthly. He was commissioning editor of ON&BY Andy Warhol (MIT/Whitechapel) and has contributed numerous essays and texts for catalogues, including James Richards’s Requests and Antisongs, Richard Healy’s Lubricants and Literature and the MIT/Whitechapel anthology Moving Image. Alongside his research into vocal development published as part of the Welsh Pavilion in Venice 2017, Voce di testa, he curated the exhibition and edited the book Anarchic sexual desires of plain unmarried schoolteachers.
