Jaime Gili was born in Caracas (Venezuela) in 1972. He studied art throughout the 90’s, starting in Prodiseño, Caracas; Universitat de Barcelona, Spain; and the Royal College of Art, London; spending studio seasons in Lisbon, Berlin and Paris during his formative years. He is currently based in London but also works regularly from Caracas and Barcelona.
Gili has had solo shows in London, Miami, New York, Madrid, Bogotá, Winterthur and Caracas, amongst other cities. In parallel to his paintings on canvas and site specific works, his interest in Public art has grown in recent years, trying to rescue certain elements of historic modernism for our conflicted present. London, Caracas, Portland and Miami, have permanent examples of Gili´s work in the public realm.
