Rehana Zaman composes anecdotes, vignettes and short stories, drawn from specific sociopolitical contexts, as videos, live works and texts. Narratives are abstracted and carefully staged to examine the intricate performances that play out within social situations.
She has presented solo exhibitions at Outpost, Norwich and Studio Voltaire, London (2013). Selected group exhibitions include Baro, São Paolo BR (2013), The Showroom, Whitechapel Gallery, Limoncello, The Royal Academy, London (2012) and Scaramouche, New York (2010). In 2013 Zaman was awarded a Gasworks International Fellowship to take up a residency in Lebanon. She is currently participating in the LUX Associate Artists programme.
