Maria Chevska lives and works in London. She is a Professor of Fine Art at the University of Oxford. Her most recent solo exhibition of paintings “Free and easy” was at the Mummery&Schnelle Gallery in London, April 2009. (image shown)

Other significant projects: exhibitions of paintings, and installations since 2005, have taken place in Helsinki, Berlin, Paris, and Philadelphia. In 2005 a monograph titled: “The Art of Maria Chevska, Vera’s Room” was published by Black Dog. It included the “K Notebook”, an image/text collaboration with the French writer Helene Cixous.
