Timothy Hyman began to publish on painting in London Magazine in the late 1970’s and was contributing editor to Artscribe. He also began to teach part time in art aschools, including the Slade, RCA and St Martins.
In 1979 he was a Visiting Professor in Baroda, India, completing exrtensive British Council Lecture Tours. Since 1990 he has contributed articles to the Times Literary Suplement. In 1998 his monograph on Bonnard
was published by Thames and Hudson, ans , in India, his book on Bhupen Khakhar. He curated the Hayward Gallery touring exhibition Carnivalesque (2000) and was lead curator for the tate gallery’s retrespective of
Stanley Spencer in 2001. In 2003 hames and Hudson published his monograph on Sienese painting. He is Currently curating, with Jophn Cage and Robert Hoozee, an exhibition of British art, to open in Ghent in
October 2007.
