Katie Cuddon's practice employs a variety of forms and media but primarily consists of clay sculptural installations and diagrammatic drawings or maps. Although these two forms are rarely combined or shown together there exists a common foundation; that of representing the process of navigation by exploiting the mediums symbolic associations and physical characteristics.
The clay works are hand modeled or rather wrestled with as the material resists precision and clarity; representing the struggle to find form within a nebulous world. Likewise, the drawings seek a similar transparency by taking complex subjects and unpicking them in a logical, but paradoxical fashion.
