Marie is a Senior Research Fellow in Mathematics Education at the University of Nottingham. Her research interests fall into three main areas:
• the teaching and learning of mathematics
• the use of digital technologies in a) research and b) teaching and learning (especially in mathematics) and
• professional development for teachers of mathematics.
She also has an interest in the political and policy landscape of mathematics education in England and blogs regularly about various reports related to mathematics education in England.
Marie has been involved in EU research projects; mainly in the STELLAR Network of Excellence (2009 to 2012) and in the Mascil project (2013 to 2016). Her main involvement in Mascil is in developing a toolkit for professional development related to inquiry learning in the particular context of connecting classroom learning to the world of work.
