Project description:

The project involves developing a novel method of monitoring Lithium-Ion battery cells inside traction battery packs.  Various sensors and techniques will be investigated to detect and locate thermal runaway at pack level much faster than existing methods. The same hardware will also be used to infer the degradation of the cells due to thermal cycling.
