Dr. Bethany Rex is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Warwick and a consultant with over 15 years’ experience of research and development support within arts and culture.

She has in-depth knowledge of the UK museum sector and local government and through her research has explored change in the form and function of public museums, investigating the relationship between public sector ethics and pressures to commercialise, the development of new business models, closures and the use of evidence in decision-making. Her book on museum closures will be published in 2027 with Manchester University Press.
