Intermission
Jason Dee
|
Jason Dee’s work examines the complex renegotiation of cinematic time created when analogue recordings of the past are viewed through the shifting perspective of a digital present.
In Dee’s installation work folded and fragmented screens act both as objects within a gallery space and as distorted windows into the film worlds projected onto their surface. Scenes often depict figures negotiating a limbo space also occupied by the medium that captured them, caught between physical existence and a spectral afterlife.
