Drawing Connections
Richard Talbot
|
For the whole of November Richard Talbot he will be making drawings in the Project Space in the Fine Art Building, and for ‘Connecting Principle’, he will be opening up the studio for discussion about his practice for both days.
His interest in drawing, and in particular his use of perspective, has developed out of originally making sculpture and finding that drawing and the investigation of line, plane and space, lay at the root of much of his concerns. This in turn has led to an investigation into many areas of drawing practice - but in particular, the role that linear perspective plays in that practice. His studio work and research raises interesting and important questions about our understanding of linear perspective - its nature and history, as well as the possible origins and use of linear perspective in the early renaissance.
