Ben Jeans Houghton is an artist whose polymathic practice includes sculpture, installation, film, photography, drawing, performance and writing. He has exhibited internationally in Germany, Greece, Japan, North Africa and South Asia, whilst regularly exhibiting in the UK with organisations such as BALTIC, CrASH, SpaceInBetween, CIRCA Contemporary Arts, Globe Gallery, CORNERHOUSE, ACA and Waygood. With Matthew de Kersaint Giraudeau he founded the ARKA Group; A fluid collective of creative collaborators who aim to make scientific and philosophical concepts tangible to a wider audience through the delivery of innovative and poetic visual art. Ben is currently on a scholarship studying Fine Art through Newcastle Universities MFA programme, alongside working as Production Designer for theatre director Tess Denman Cleaver on a reworking of Alice In Bed, a play by Susan Sontag, whilst also writing a piece of oneiric fiction for Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
