Workshops
CONEXS aims to support the next generation of researchers to study X-Ray Spectroscopy. With this goal in mind, we will be running an annual Workshop which will be open for PhD studentss and Postdocs to attend free of charge.
Upcoming Events
Future Events will be advertised here and in the HPC-CONEXS newletter.

2022
The CONEXS Workshop 2022 was held in-person hosted by Newcastle University on the 28-30 March 2022.The workshop trained researchers in the theory of X-ray specotrscopy and how to simulate/interpret their spectra using the FEFF and Quantum ESPRESSO packages. The worksop used a mix of lectures and practical exercises.
2021
The CONEXS Workshop 2021 (our postponed 2020 Summer School) was held as a virtual event on the 15-17 March 2021. The workshop was aimed at training PhDs and PDRAs (especially experimentalists) in the theory of X-ray spectroscopy and how to simulate/interpret their spectra, with a focus on electronic structure methods for the understanding of pre-edge features and L-edges spectra, considering multiplet theory and quantum chemistry (TDDFT/Multi-reference) methods. Training resources from this event are available here.
2019
Our first Summer School was hosted by Newcastle University on the 10-12 September 2019, focusing on the near-edge structure of X-Ray absorption spectra including FDMNES and CP2K. Training resources from this event are available here.
