About Us
The Academic Primary and Community Care Unit (APCCU) is a virtual unit hosted by Newcastle Health Research Partnership (NHRP), bringing together leading experts from primary and community care. Our goal is to build research capacity within primary care, uniting the growing expertise in clinical and educational research across the North East and Cumbria.
A key aim of the unit is to work alongside NHRP to enhance the clinical academic workforce. Central to this will be the development of a clear academic primary care pathway, providing opportunities for the next generation of academics in the region.
Our Vision
Our vision is to advance primary care research by consolidating the existing expertise in clinical and educational research regionally. Together, we strive to drive meaningful research that makes a lasting impact on patient care and medical education throughout the region, making the North East a hub for primary care research.
