  • Eleanor's PhD focused on characterising the magnitude and time-course of symptoms of exercise induced muscle damage in older adults.

Eleanor joined the AGE research group in September 2019 for her PhD after completing a Masters by Research degree in Musculoskeletal Ageing at Newcastle University and the Medical Research Council Versus Arthritis Centre for Integrated Research in to Musculoskeletal Ageing (CIMA). Her main area of interest is resistance training and whole food interventions for the prevention of sarcopenia. Previously, Eleanor has conducted work investigating the impact of a high protein diet on exercise recovery in masters athletes. Her doctoral thesis focusses on characterising the magnitude and time-course of symptoms of exercise induced muscle damage in older adults, and the potential of milk as a post-exercise recovery beverage. Eleanor will be continuing to work with the group until 2022.
